VIENNA STOCK EXCHANGE

VENUE FOR CLASSICAL CONCERTS

The Vienna Stock Exchange, located on the famous Ringstrasse, offers opportunities for impressive events, presentations, conferences, and cocktail parties. The ballroom captivates with its richly decorated stucco ceiling, 13 meters high, and its state-of-the-art technical equipment, and is complemented by the separately accessible Red Hall and Maria Theresa Hall. The Stock Exchange building, with its characteristic red brick façade, is one of the most important monumental buildings on the prominent Ringstrasse.

In parallel with the redesign of the Vienna Ringstrasse in place of the old city walls, construction of the Vienna Stock Exchange was carried out from 1870 to 1877 by the father of historicism, Theophil Freiherr von Hansen, in the typical Viennese style: an austere, classical take on the Renaissance. Hansen was a specialist in acoustic perfection, and his much-admired acoustics are often imitated in concert halls today.
