Old Stock Exchange Palace

A Neo-Renaissance Monument

The Old Stock Exchange Palace with its characteristic brick-red facade is one of the most memorable buildings in Vienna and is located on the famous Ringstrasse in the first district next to the Votivkirche and the university.

The Old Stock Exchange was built by the father of historicism, Theophil Freiherr von Hansen, between 1870 and 1877 in the typical Viennese style, also known as Neo-Renaissance.
Hansen was a specialist in perfect acoustics, he also built the Vienna Musikverein and the Parliament. His concepts are still used in modern concert halls today.

The ballroom of the Old Stock Exchange impresses with its richly decorated stucco ceiling, a room height of 13 meters and outstanding acoustics. Anyone who has experienced a concert here will not forget it for a long time.
