Original scores, increasingly discovered in recent times, premieres of reconstructed works, results of music research from all over the world - are far more appreciated in a place like Vienna than the repetition of already existing works.
World leading instrumental soloists, who would otherwise never have played in an orchestra, could be won over to participate in such performances.
The aspiration is to establish an internationally announced competition as young musicians have little opportunity to present themselves to the public or obtain a position within an orchestra. The competition, which has been prepared for a number of years and is especially dedicated to the "Viennese style", should be announced and implemented for the first time in the year 2003.
