When Vienna’s
Ringstrasse was erected in place of the old city walls, the
Vienna Stock Exchange found a new home in one of the
monumental buildings along this unique city boulevard. The
building was designed by the father of historicism, Baron
Theophil von Hansen, and was built during the years 1870
through 1877 in the typical Viennese style with the clean,
austere lines of the Renaissance
